Happy Holidays!
The fabulous count down to the year-end holiday continues – I just wanted to say Hello! and THANK YOU to all our 5000+ amazing ‘likers’ on facebook!
Thank you all for your lovely comments, likes, and most of all, your littleoddforest buys.
Here’s an advanced holiday present from us to you, because we are extremely grateful, and we love you for loving us! XOXOXO
Mossimo for Target has ripped off littleoddforest’s original design

so, it is Mossimo for Target, who has ripped off my littleoddforest ORIGINAL handmade Hoot The Owl Sling Purse, which I created and have been making since 2007.
we could not find any direct email addresses anywhere in their website, and so the only thing i could do was contact them via their web contact form. twice, under 2 different options. hopefully they will get back to me asap and remove the said item from their shelves
if you don’t know what’s going on, littleoddforest’s ORIGINAL HANDMADE DESIGN of the Hoot The Owl Sling Purse, which I cam up with in Year 2007, and is and has only been handmade with love, has been COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF & CHEAPLY MASS PRODUCED by TARGET in the United States. Please know that you are only buying quality handmade fabric bags made with lots of love by us, and not very cheaply mass-produced in a factory production assembly line ;(
I hope everyone can respect only original designs and their designers, and NOT SUPPORT COPYCATS, large or small, corporations or indie designers, because they are all THIEVES and profiting from ripping off from all our original creations.

we are always handmade with lots of love…
i believe an extremely overdue birthday-thank you note is in order..!
going behind the scenes in the littleoddforest… besides the mundane administrative stuff which involves emails, packing orders, and so on, and more unimaginable, mundane boring stuff that needs to be done in order to operate a business, the entire littleoddforest collection, week after week, month after month, year after year, the fulfilling of orders and restocking of the web shoppe, none of those would have been possible without help from my fantastic littleoddforest sewing fairies. my tiny crafting team has been constantly evolving over all these years, and although trying at times, with countless ups and downs, but also sharing laughter and joy, and solving problems together, i believe it has been the most liberating experience, working and learning with these angels.. i love you gals. thanks for rocking. really. Czar Czar, Belle, Norie, and Ate Beth, and all my littleoddforest fairies in Singapore (including Shelley and Meredith, and Christine, who is always there to help out for almost all LOF outings), and of course, especially Auntie Millie and my dearest super Mummy. what would i do without all of you!?? nothing would have come into fruition. i would have cut and sewn until i died, and not have the time nor physical means to do anything else that this little operation involves, and sell nothing. and gave up. nothing would have worked out. absolutely nothing.
thank you to all who have stuck around me and littleoddforest all these time and believed in what i believed in, that is { fabric goodness that’s always handmade with lots of love, fair wage and sweatshop-free }, and supported littleoddforest in whatever ways you can. of course my own sweatshop is me, the slave driver and the slave who works more than 12 hours a day most days of the week. whoopsy
i love what i make, and make only what i love, and i want you to love what i love to. xoxo!
we have been really really busy
really really really…. hooo..!! *wipes sweat*

not sure what to name it yet… scurry the squirrel? hmmm…

and more fantastic foxy goodness on the way!

the bags i use
many of my lovely customers always ask me what bags i own, and which littleoddforest ones do i use.
these are just some of the newer littleoddforest bags which i use on a regular basis. okay, not regular. ALL THE TIME. lol. i obviously own at least one piece of every single design i come up with, so i’ll just share with you the newer bag designs which i have been using since the start of this year 2011.
i have not bought any bags for the past 5 years or so. probably only used some others which i really really love, a couple of times here and there. those who know-know me, will not buy me any bags as presents, unless it is by another small handmade label, something really exquisite, or really utilitarian, by, say, some japanese designer. i am extremely anti big brands. so forget about getting me a prada or gucci. i will admit that i was one of the many lost sheep way back then, and owned a series of lvs and gucci (horror of horrors, i know! haha!), which i have since sold off to fund my business when i first started out :p The only time I will ever consider buying a bag? probably when traveling abroad, one that’s really unique in design, an indie or niche label, and only available at that particular place.
i was quite disappointed recently, when an old friend excitedly got me a cheaply mass-made in China bag. oh well. a measurement of our friendship? mayyybeee… ha.
so! i use all of the Hoot The Owl series, especially the Messenger version, which fits my 13″ laptop perfectly, and is great to use when i’m traveling, since it comes with a double zipper and flap closure. i love using my Hoot The Owl Slings when going out to have some fun, and the handBag version when i need to go for business-related meetings.

the one bag which i have been using almost every single day for the past few months? the Forest Garden Tote!

i absolutely love how i can lug and throw this around, and how big and spacious it is. if you have noticed, i have started using plenty of bull twill cotton fabrics since early this year, and coming up with a more utilitarian range of bags and purses using mainly this particular fabric. i fell in love with this super duper sturdy and durable fabric at first touch, on one of my sourcing trips. they are thick and soft to the touch, and extremely good for rough use. i love love love them, and will be using this for a long while.
the other bags which i rotate with are The Petalon, the Tree Lovers Messenger (which very recently accompanied me throughout my one month wanderlust in europe, together with In The Woods tote ), and the Pixie Leaf Bag.
p.s. it has been extremely difficult for me to start blogging again! my aim is to start with 1 post a month… haha.. can’t wait to share with you the surprise which has been brewing since late last year and causing me to have migraines, signs of hair loss, blood-shot eyes, and panda eye rings :p

Adopt your doodle-face fabric buttons here! In Aid Of Japan
A total of 70 hand-pressed hand-drawn doodle-face buttons have been adopted so far! (I will be updating the final amount again later this week) – thank you all for showing your support for our Japan Relief Fundraiser. Sew it on or pin it on to show off your support! Kindly note once again that Full Proceeds from the Net Sales of these buttons will be donated to the Singapore Red Cross. Besides the cost of materials and so on, I will also be paying for all the etsy fees from my own pocket, so no worries about that.
This Surprise Doodle-Face Fabric Button fundraiser In Aid Of Japan, one of our favorite places in this world, will continue until this Friday 25 March 2011, marking 1 week since I started this fundraiser in aid of Japan, and 2 weeks since the terrible tragedy struck. Because I am out of town, it will be pretty difficult to attend to all your doodle-faces requests. Honestly, I am having so much fun attending to all your faces-requests – I have not had such freestyle, freehand fun in quite a while, and that is one of my favorite things to do, ever. And I also did not expect you sweet peeps to enjoy having a requests option so much! Thus the decision to end the fundraiser this Friday. I think it has been a pretty successful 5-day run so far on, considering the buttons are going for only $5 each
Please continue to show your support if you can and help spread the word. 3 more days! Thank you, and Ganbatte, Japan! Our friends there have been reporting their safety, and we are very sure that our favorite Nippon-land will get right back up on its feet really soon. I want to visit again real soon for some fabric shopping!
CURRENT TOTAL : $214.49 + $92.40 = $306.89 (click More below for details). Thank you so much for giving from your hearts! The second batch of doodle-faces will be mailed out today (Wed 23 March 2011). *First batch of doodle-faces have already been mailed out! (Mon 21 March 2011)
